HAM builds an LNG service station for Alimerka

This is the first Liquefied Natural Gas service station in Asturias

HAM Group has been chosen by the Alimerka, supermarket chain to design and build its first LNG service station, which will supply its new fleet of trucks with this modern fuel.

The facility is located in Alimerka‘s logistics center in the town of Lugo de Llanera (Asturias) and provides service to its 80 delivery vehicles that distribute its products daily to its supermarket network.

HAM Group has been responsible for the design and construction of the Alimerka LNG service station

Equipped with the latest technology, the service station does not pollute the atmosphere and does not require a cryogenic pump for its operation. It is composed, among other elements, of two state-of-the-art dispensers, designed and built by HAM Criogénica, HAM’s engineering company.

Alimerka has also entrusted the logistics of supplying the station to Grupo HAM, with Liquid Natural Gaz (LNG), the natural gas marketing company, and Transportes HAM, which will carry out cryogenic transportation, covering the supply of LNG to the service station. , through an online remote control that allows Alimerka to delegate this responsibility to HAM.

The commitment to liquefied natural gas as fuel for its vehicle fleet translates at an environmental level into a substantial reduction of the carbon dioxide (CO2) footprint by 30%, compared to its previous diesel models, and also in a significant reduction of nitrous oxides (NOx), particle emissions and engine noise level.

HAM Group is a leader in the construction of CNG stations and a pioneer in the use of LNG in its own truck fleet since 2000, betting on constant innovation and the development of safe, reliable and easy-to-use technology. based on its accumulated experience as a user of its own stations and on all those contributions from its more than three hundred clients.
