HAMikro, the supplier that allows you to refuel Biomethane
HAM Group contributes to building the first Biomethane service station
The application of HAM’s new technology has allowed the launch of the first service station powered by biomethane, a fuel obtained from the transformation of biogas produced by the use of wastewater.
HAM has carried out the design, assembly and commissioning of the biomethane dispensing station. The installation consists of a fuel compression system with a low-flow compressor, a storage structure with high-pressure bottles and a dispenser to supply this energy source.
The service station is owned by Aqualia and is located within the facilities of the wastewater treatment plant that the company has in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) and is part of the Smart Green Gas innovation project, whose objective is the obtaining biofuel from the purification of these waters and which allows CO2 emissions to be reduced by 80%.
These types of projects represent a strong boost for the research and creation of alternative fuels in sectors such as the automobile industry in Spain and promote the obtaining of a renewable energy source, from wastewater, that is much more respectful of the environment.
