HAM delivers the first LNG-C station in Paris

The LNG-CNG service station is located in Rungis, next to the French capital

HAM Group has designed, built and launched the first service station in Paris that allows the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG). The service station, located in Rengis, is included in the European “Blue Corridor” project and is the second to be launched in France. In both cases, HAM has been responsible for the entire operation.

The new Paris gas station is a pioneering facility in the sector, with a 60 m3 tank, a CNG filling line for light vehicles, a double LNG filling line, with direct pump, for heavy vehicles and recovery equipment “boil off” to recover gas from the vehicles and the tank itself.

The LNG supply can be carried out by pump or by pressure differential by simply preselecting the operating mode and without the need to modify the installation. It is the first LNG supply station capable of operating with this functionality. It allows you to refuel all types of vehicles and reduce operating costs since it makes it possible to optionally not use the cryogenic pump.

The service station differs from market standards by:
• Filling without a pump: The installation technology allows LNG trucks to be filled without the use of the installed pump, saving on operating costs and making the service station more robust.
• Vacuum insulated: The LNG pipes are vacuum insulated to minimize “boil off” and reduce cold setting times, allowing an installation with more performance and fewer emissions.
• M.I.D: The supplier has metrological certification so the customer has absolute confidence in the quantity refueled.

In addition to the previous characteristics, as is customary in Grupo HAM facilities, the station is fully automated, allowing autonomous operation and is remotely connected “on-line”.

The implementation of LNG stations in France will increase in the coming months, as HAM has been assigned the construction of three more stations for next 2016.

The trust placed in HAM by the large gas companies for the development of the LNG and CNG market during its initial phase confirms the leadership position in the sector, the result of the experience acquired over the years and the high quality of the projects carried out.
