HAMikro Biomethane dispenser
HAM contributes to a new project at the Guadalajara wastewater treatment plant
HAM Group has developed a service station, which it has called HAMikro, which allows vehicles to refuel biomethane that comes from wastewater. The station is made up of a fuel compression system, based on a low flow compressor. It also has a structure that allows the storage of biomethane in a series of high-pressure bottles and a dispenser through which vehicles can be supplied.
The application of this new technology designed, developed and launched by Grupo HAM, has made it possible to start a pioneering project in Spain, which allows the use of gas from sludge management, wastewater at the Guadalajara Treatment Plant, as vehicle fuel. Said fuel is obtained from the transformation of biogas produced by the use of wastewater, reducing gas emissions by 80% and fuel costs.
The project has been promoted by Valoriza Agua, with the collaboration of the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the University of Almería.
HAM is always committed to sustainable and efficient projects that help combat climate change and respect the environment. Thanks to the production of biomethane, which can subsequently be refueled using the HAMikro pump, it is possible to reuse water, a common good, in addition to using alternative energy, much cleaner and more respectful, which ensures optimal air quality.
